Start your day right with porridge and Village Yoghurt! Porridge is the perfect winter breakfast you can get your hands on. It is made from oats, a cereal grain that has been eaten since the Bronze Age. While not one food can provide all the nutrients the human body needs, there are some foods, such as oats, that are high in nutrients and have potential health benefits. Oats contain protein, magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, Vitamin E and Vitamin B and has no sodium or cholesterol. The high fibre content found in porridge is also very good for digestion.
Ingredients:
25 grams of porridge
150 grams of Village Dairy Yoghurt
Fruits of choice for topping
Honey (optional)
Method:
Pour 200 ml of water into a non-stick pan and stir in porridge oats.
Cook over a low medium heat until bubbling and thickened. Swirl in half the yoghurt and top with the rest. Serve with fruit of choice and swirl on some delicious honey.
